Comment ne pas aimer un espoir avec un tel physique combiné à un coup de patin aussi fluide et un talent de marqueur? C’est le profil de Juraj qui nous amène une dose de physicalité à son coffre à outil. Sa possession de rondelle est fort probablement la meilleure de sa cuvée. Au Hlinka il m’émerveillait en attaquant systématiquement le milieu de la glace en Liiga avec une opposition plus relevée il se fait plus souvent diriger vers le long des bandes où il est tout de même capable d’oeuvrer et sortir avec la rondelle. J’aurais préféré le voir utiliser son lancer au côté droit à la hauteur des demi-cercles durant l’avantage numérique c’est plutôt à la pointe gauche qu’il est vu par son entraineur avec le TPS, position afin de contrôler et garder possession de la rondelle. Défensivement il est responsable et impliqué avec un bon positionnement.

On aime tous voir un futur ailier de puissance avec un potentiel de marqueur, la question que je me pose est la suivante: comment son talent se transposera au niveau supérieur. Ma réponse: son jeu en Liiga a amené certains doutes que j’espère Juraj arrivera à surpasser.

What not to like from a 6’4 player with such an ease on skates and a knack for scoring? That’s what Juraj brings to the table combined with a dose of physicality. Puck possession is most probably the best of all prospects this year. While at the Hlinka he stroke me as a player who systematically attacked the center of the ice, at the Liiga against a stronger opposition he seems to be more easily directed towards the boards where he still gets to come out more often the not with the puck. I would have liked to see him operate on the right half wall during the power play to use his shot but his coach sends him at the left point where he can protect the play and facilitate puck possession for his team. Defensively he is responsible and engaged with a good positioning.

We all like the idea of a power forward with a scorer’s touch the question is, how will his talent translate to a higher level? My answer: his play at the Liiga has brought me doubts which I hope will be erased through his development.
